A tragic incident occurred at St. Louis Girls’ Grammar School, Akure, Ondo State, where 12-year-old Boluwatife Oladipo, a JSS 3 student, collapsed and later died after reportedly predicting her own death.

According to reports, Boluwatife fainted during school hours last Tuesday shortly after telling her classmates that she felt as though she was about to die.

Eyewitnesses said the student was playing with her friends when she began making unusual remarks, including a plea for her mother to have more children.

Moments later, she collapsed and was rushed to the school clinic, where first aid was administered before being transferred to the University of Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital (UNIMEDTH) in Akure. Unfortunately, she was pronounced dead on arrival.

Teachers and classmates recalled Boluwatife’s chilling statements before she collapsed, with one teacher noting that “it was obvious the deceased girl knew she would die.” Despite medical efforts, including a blood transfusion, the young girl passed away due to severe blood shortage.

Her mother later revealed that Boluwatife had been urging her to have another child and had even told her father that she planned to travel abroad for her Senior Secondary School education. The family also reported a strange occurrence on the morning of the incident, which they believed to be a bad omen.

The school community remains in shock as investigations into the sudden death continue.
