Emergency services are searching for a woman in her 70s and her son, who went missing after heavy rains caused flooding and landslides in the Campania region of southern Italy, the fire brigade reported late Tuesday.

The two went missing in San Felice a Cancello, near Naples, where landslides struck the area. As of midnight, emergency responders were still trying to locate them.

According to local reports, including from ANSA news agency, the landslide was triggered by intense rainfall in the town, which is situated at the base of a hill.
