20 Crew Members Rescued After Comoros-Flagged Ship Sinks off Oman’s Coast
The Omani Maritime Security Center has confirmed the successful rescue of 20 crew members from a sinking commercial vessel off the coast of Salalah.
The ship, identified as Phoenix 15 and sailing under the Comoros flag, sank approximately 20 nautical miles southeast of Salalah.
Authorities said the emergency prompted a swift response, with all crew members safely rescued by the nearby commercial vessel Gulf Barka, which was in the vicinity when the distress call was made.
The cause of the sinking has not yet been disclosed, and investigations are expected to follow.
