The Jigawa Pilgrims Welfare Board says it will provide special dietary care for its pilgrims with diabetes during the 2026 Hajj exercise.
The spokesman of the board, Mr Habibu Yusuf-Babura, made this known in a statement in Dutse on Friday.
Yusuf-Babura quoted the Director-General of the board, Alhaji Umar Labbo as saying that the initiative was part of the board’s efforts to enhance the well-being and health of its intending pilgrims, while in the holy land.
“The gesture is imperative to ensure a safe, healthy and acceptable pilgrimage by all pilgrims.
“The welfare and health of pilgrims remain our priority, the board will not relent in its efforts towards ensuring special arrangement for daily three square meals, a practice unique to Jigawa,” he said.
Labbo commended Gov. Umar Namadi for his approval and continued support to enhance the welfare of the intending pilgrims
