Five men were arraigned on Monday before an Ota Magistrates’ Court in Ogun State for allegedly stealing a truckload of Milo products valued at N25 million.
The defendants – Temidire Ramon (35), Aminu Yusuf (26), Olusola Opadare (35), Oludayo Adeleye (38), and Amodu Jimoh (51) – face charges of conspiracy and stealing.
Prosecutor Insp. E.O. Adaraloye informed the court that the offences occurred on Oct. 13, 2020, at Agbara in Ogun State. According to him, the defendants conspired to steal the Milo products, which belonged to Nestle Company. The alleged actions violated Sections 390(9) and 516 of the Ogun State Criminal Code, 2006.
The defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Presiding Magistrate O.A. Onagoruwa granted bail to each defendant in the sum of N500,000, with two sureties each. The court specified that the sureties must be gainfully employed, reside within the court’s jurisdiction, and provide proof of tax payment to the Ogun State Government.
The case was adjourned until Dec. 12 for further hearing.
