7 Naxals Killed in Police Operation in Telangana’s Mulugu District

At least seven Naxals were killed in a gunfight with police forces during an operation in Telangana’s Mulugu district on Sunday morning.

The encounter occurred in the Chalpaka forest area of Eturunagaram, located around 258 km northeast of Hyderabad, Telangana’s capital.

According to police, joint teams comprising the Greyhounds and the Anti-Naxal Squad conducted a search operation in the forest when they encountered the Naxals, leading to a fierce exchange of gunfire.

“During the operation, a gunfight broke out between our forces and the Naxals. Seven Naxals were neutralized in the stand-off,” a police official confirmed.

Authorities reported that no injuries were sustained by the police during the encounter. Additionally, a cache of arms and ammunition was recovered from the site.

The operation is part of ongoing efforts to combat Naxal insurgency in the region, which has posed significant security challenges in parts of India. Further investigations are underway.
