A 73-year-old Israeli national, Avi Warshaviak, has died after reportedly developing sudden health complications while lodging at the Corinthia Villa Hotel in the Garki area of the Federal Capital Territory.
The incident occurred on Saturday, June 28, 2025. According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, Warshaviak fell ill at about 9:51 a.m. and was immediately rushed to Asokoro General Hospital, where he was later confirmed dead.
The hotel’s Chief Security Officer, Okorie Emmanuel, reported the matter to the Garki Divisional Police Headquarters at approximately 11:23 a.m.
Police officers responded by visiting the hotel and hospital to assess the situation. The scene was documented, and the body was transferred to the hospital morgue for an autopsy.
Authorities have initiated contact with the Israeli Embassy in Nigeria to begin necessary consular procedures. Further investigation is ongoing.
