In the early hours of Saturday, February 8, 2025, a devastating accident occurred near Escárcega in Tabasco, Mexico, resulting in the deaths of 41 individuals. A bus carrying 48 passengers collided with a truck, leading to a catastrophic fire that left the bus completely incinerated, with only its metal frame remaining.
According to authorities in Tabasco state, 38 bus passengers, two bus drivers, and the truck driver perished in the collision. Recovery efforts are ongoing, with officials noting that “so far, only 18 skulls have been confirmed, but much more is missing.”
