Security forces have arrested a doctor in Katsina State for allegedly providing medical treatment to wounded bandits, including the notorious gang leader, Usman Modi Modi, who has a ₦50 million bounty on his head.

The suspect, Lawan Ado, a medical practitioner from Safana Local Government Area, admitted in a video obtained by security analyst Zagazola Makama that he treated several injured bandits at their hideouts when summoned.

According to Ado, his first encounter with the criminals was when he treated Usman Modi Modi, who had been shot during a clash with the Yan Kyanbara vigilante group. Initially taken to a hospital in Taskiya, the gang later brought him for further treatment, paying ₦18,000 for his services.

He also confessed to treating other high-profile bandits, including Mai Kudi, who was shot in Kurfi and paid him ₦8,000, and Audu, an aide to Modi Modi, who also paid ₦8,000. Another bandit, Dogo Mardi, who sustained gunshot wounds during a robbery, paid ₦11,000.

Ado further revealed that he had traveled to multiple locations to provide medical care to other bandits, including one identified as Karanboguwa. Security forces are continuing investigations into his activities and potential links to criminal groups in the region.
