Kenyan authorities have arrested two individuals following the discovery of Scottish businessman Campbell Scott’s body in a remote forest approximately 60 miles southeast of Nairobi. The 58-year-old finance executive from Dunfermline, Fife, was reported missing on February 16 during a business trip to the Kenyan capital.

Scott, a senior director at credit scoring firm FICO, had arrived in Nairobi on February 15 to attend a conference at the JW Marriott Hotel. He was last seen the following morning, leaving the hotel with an unidentified man. CCTV footage captured Scott entering a vehicle with the man, who was dressed in a white T-shirt and blue jeans.

On February 22, a cattle herder discovered Scott’s body in a sack in Makongo Forest. Initial reports suggest that he was strangled, with his hands and legs bound by green nylon rope. A post-mortem examination is scheduled for later today at Makueni County Referral Hospital.

Police have arrested a taxi driver and a waiter from a nightclub that Scott reportedly visited in Nairobi’s Westlands area. Authorities are investigating the possibility that Scott was abducted and held for ransom before his death.

FICO expressed devastation over Scott’s death, describing him as a leader in their international scores business. The company is cooperating with local authorities and the UK High Commission in Nairobi to assist in the ongoing investigation.
