Naira Marley Expresses Gratitude After Court Clears Him in Mohbad’s Death Case

Nigerian singer Azeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, has expressed gratitude following his exoneration in the investigation into the death of his former signee, Ilerioluwa Aloba, known professionally as Mohbad.

On February 25, 2025, a Magistrate Court in Yaba, Lagos State, acquitted Naira Marley, Sam Larry, and Prime Boy of any involvement in Mohbad’s demise.

Mohbad, a former artist under Marlian Records, passed away under mysterious circumstances in September 2023, leading to widespread speculation and controversy.

In the aftermath, videos surfaced online alleging that Mohbad had been bullied by Naira Marley and his associates, intensifying public outcry and calls for justice.

Following these events, Naira Marley and Sam Larry were arrested in October 2023 as part of the investigation into Mohbad’s death. However, after thorough legal proceedings, the court found no evidence linking them to the incident and subsequently cleared all accused parties.

In response to the court’s decision, Naira Marley took to social media to express his relief and gratitude. He shared a verse from the Holy Quran on his X (formerly Twitter) account, stating: “And whoever puts all his trust in Allah, He will be enough for him. (65:3).”

This development brings a significant conclusion to a case that has captivated public attention for over a year, providing closure to the parties involved and their supporters.
