After a 21-month stay in his hometown of Daura, Katsina State, former President Muhammadu Buhari has moved to his residence in Kaduna. The relocation was confirmed by his spokesperson, Mallam Garba Shehu, and former aide Bashir Ahmad.

Since leaving office in May 2023, Buhari has maintained a low profile in Daura, focusing on personal engagements. His move to Kaduna was accompanied by Vice President Kashim Shettima and other dignitaries, including Borno State Governor Babagana Umara Zulum and Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani. A warm send-off in Katsina featured well-wishers and notable figures such as Mallam Mamman Daura and Musa Halilu.

Upon arrival in Kaduna, Vice President Shettima and Governor Sani met privately with Buhari at his residence on Sultan Lane in the Government Reserved Area (GRA). Security was heightened across Kaduna, particularly along Sultan Road leading to Buhari’s residence, during the visit. Shortly after, the vice president and Governor Sani departed for the airport.

This move marks a new chapter for the former president as he transitions from his post-presidential retreat in Daura to a more central location in Kaduna.
