Kenyan Woman, 28, Caught With 294g of Cocaine Hidden in Body Cavity
A 28-year-old Kenyan woman, Jane Njeri Muigai, has been arrested for allegedly attempting to smuggle 294 grams of cocaine concealed in her body.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) confirmed her arrest in a statement released on Friday, April 18, 2025.
According to the DCI, Muigai was apprehended by a multi-agency security team during a drug trafficking crackdown along the Northern Frontier District en route to Nairobi. The team intercepted a Moyale-to-Nairobi-bound bus at a checkpoint, where the suspect’s suspicious behavior drew the attention of law enforcement officers.
Female officers conducted a thorough search and discovered the drugs concealed in her private parts.
Muigai is currently being held at Moyale Police Station while anti-narcotics agents continue investigations and initiate legal proceedings.
