California Woman Fatally Shot by Husband in Suspected Murder-Suicide, Leaves Behind Seven Children

A tragic domestic violence incident has left a California woman dead and seven children without their mother after her husband allegedly shot and killed her before turning the gun on himself.

The victim, identified by family members as Yesenia Zamora, was killed in what police are investigating as a suspected murder-suicide in Fontana. Her husband, Tomas Garduno, also died at the scene. Authorities have not officially released his identity, but family members confirmed the details through online tributes.

Zamora’s daughter, Jazlynne Zamora, shared an emotional message on a GoFundMe page, describing her mother as “a light in her community” and a fierce advocate for women. “She always said, ‘Women can do anything they set their minds to,’ and she lived those words every day,” Jazlynne wrote. “She was senselessly taken from us… murdered by my stepdad Tomas in an act of unimaginable violence.”

Garduno’s children also launched a separate fundraiser, remembering him as “a devoted and hardworking man who was tragically murdered and gone too soon.”

Zamora leaves behind seven children, ages 8 to 24, who now face life without their mother’s love and support. The GoFundMe campaign highlights the emotional and financial toll the family now bears.

The Fontana Police Department said the investigation is ongoing.
