Obi Cubana Refutes Money Ritual Allegations Amid Wife’s Health Crisis
Renowned socialite and entrepreneur Obi Iyiegbu, widely known as Obi Cubana, has publicly denied allegations that he used his wife for money rituals following her mysterious illness.
In an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, Obi Cubana recounted how his wife fell seriously ill shortly after giving birth on Valentine’s Day. Despite her dire condition, she remained hopeful, assuring him that she would recover to care for their newborn child.
“Someone called me and claimed they heard I had used my wife for juju, and it came from a friend,” Obi Cubana recalled. “Her condition was so severe that a professor even suggested she might never walk again or have more children. That night, I cried, but my wife comforted me, saying, ‘I will walk again and raise our baby.’”
During the interview, Obi Cubana also addressed the extravagant burial ceremony he organized for his late mother in 2021. He explained that his family has a history of not living beyond 80 years, with his father, grandfather, and uncle all passing away before reaching that age.
“In my family, no one has lived up to 80. My father died at 66, my uncle at 75, and my grandfather at 78. I told my mother that she would break this trend,” he shared.
However, despite his hopes, his mother passed away at 78, just short of the 80-year milestone. Obi Cubana had promised her a grand burial and had been saving for it long before her passing.
