Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has extended heartfelt congratulations to his predecessor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, on the occasion of his 66th birthday.
In a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Festus Ahon, and released in Asaba on Tuesday, Oborevwori described the former governor as a visionary leader, astute politician, and committed statesman whose legacy of selfless service continues to inspire people across Delta State and beyond.
He lauded Okowa’s leadership during his eight-year tenure as governor, noting that his administration laid a solid foundation for sustained growth and development in the state.
According to the governor, Okowa’s unwavering dedication to public service is evident in his long and distinguished political career, having served as local government chairman, commissioner, secretary to the state government, senator, and ultimately as governor.
“On behalf of the government and people of Delta, I heartily rejoice with our highly respected leader and elder statesman, Okowa, on the joyous occasion of his 66th birthday,” Oborevwori stated.
“As an exemplary leader, a man of discipline, political maestro and patriot, your life is a shining example of humility, integrity and sacrifice. Your contributions to the development of Delta and Nigeria are both admirable and enduring.”
Oborevwori prayed for continued good health, strength, and wisdom for the former governor, expressing hope that he would remain a valuable asset to the nation and humanity.
“As you mark this new milestone, we celebrate the grace of God upon your life and your many accomplishments. May your days be long, your legacy preserved and your efforts rewarded with peace, joy and continued fulfillment,” he added.
