Marcus Morris Sr., a longtime NBA player with over a decade of experience in the league, has been arrested in Florida on a fraud charge.

According to online booking records, the 34-year-old power forward was taken into custody on Sunday in Broward County. Authorities released a booking photo showing Morris with a neutral expression.

Morris, who played college basketball at the University of Kansas, was selected 14th overall in the 2011 NBA Draft by the Houston Rockets. Over his 13-season career, he played for several teams, including the Phoenix Suns, Detroit Pistons, Boston Celtics, New York Knicks, and Los Angeles Clippers.

Most recently, he appeared during the 2023–2024 NBA season with both the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Philadelphia 76ers. He has averaged 12 points and 4.4 rebounds across 832 games throughout his career.

This is not Morris’ first run-in with the law. In 2012, he entered a diversion program after a battery charge and was later acquitted in a 2015 assault case.

Details regarding the nature of the current fraud allegation have not yet been made public.
