American Woman Dies During Visit to Companion in Warri

A 60-year-old American woman, Jacqueline Bolling Elton, has died while visiting her male companion in Warri.

Elton reportedly arrived in the city on September 15 to spend time with her friend, 39-year-old Alawode Olaide.

According to reports, she suddenly fell ill around 3:00 p.m. on September 29 and was rushed to a private hospital in Otokutu. She was later referred to the Central Hospital, Warri, where doctors pronounced her dead on arrival.

Authorities said the incident was promptly reported, leading to a police visit to the scene. Olaide has since been taken into custody for questioning.

Elton’s body has been deposited at the Central Hospital Mortuary for autopsy, while the case is expected to be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further inquiry.
