Nigeria@65: JED celebrates with Nigerians, reiterates commitment to improved services
Jos Electricity Distribution Company (JED) PLC has felicitated with Nigerians on the occasion of the country’s 65th Independence anniversary while reiterating the company’s commitment to better service delivery in its franchise areas.
Mr Rilwanu Shehu, the State Operating Officer, JED, Gombe State gave the commitment while commemorating this year’s 65th anniversary of Nigeria’s Independence at their Regional Office in Gombe.
Shehu said that the country has come along way with successes recorded in development, infrastructure, power sector amongst others.
He said that though there were challenges, Nigeria has made significant progress that was worth celebrating and acknowledging, hence called on Nigerians to approach the Independence Day with hope.
Shehu commended the youth for their contributions in transforming the country with their innovations and ideas, urging them to continue to work for the development and growth of the country.
“On our part, we will continue to improve service delivery to our numerous customers to ensure that there is power supply for more industries to thrive.
“Gombe is seeing improvement in terms of business environment and industries coming up on board, we will continue to support those businesses towards improving the economic life of the state and country.
“Power is the bedrock of any economy and JED is mindful of that and that’s why we have invested a lot to make supply better towards driving the growth of small and medium scale businesses.”
Shehu appealed to youths to support government’s and other stakeholders’ effort at revamping the power sector, through jettisoning attempts at vandalising power infrastructure and installations.
He further appealed to residents of Gombe to always pay their bills in full to enable JED to sustain the improvement being witnessed in supply and network infrastructure.
