‘I’ll Knock Out Anthony Joshua’ — Nigerian Boxer Kingsley Ibeh Challenges Former World Champion
Nigerian-born heavyweight boxer Kingsley “The Black Lion” Ibeh has thrown down the gauntlet to former unified world champion Anthony Joshua, declaring his readiness to face him in the ring — even proposing that the fight take place in Nigeria.
Ibeh, who has recorded 11 straight victories since his 2021 defeat to Jared Anderson, recently secured an emphatic third-round knockout against former world title challenger Gerald Washington.
In an interview with Sky Sports, the rising heavyweight contender said facing Joshua would be the perfect opportunity to make a global statement.
“We need the right platform and the right opponent to make a statement, and there’d be no better one than AJ,” Ibeh said. “That would definitely be a dream come true — it would be amazing.”
The 29-year-old boxer expressed confidence in his ability to stop Joshua, stating that the outcome would depend only on “how soon” the knockout happens.
“It doesn’t matter where it is — I’m ready anywhere, even in Nigeria or the UK,” he added. “I would love to dance with him in the O2 Arena. I would definitely stop him, no questions about that.”
Ibeh’s challenge has sparked excitement among boxing fans, many of whom are eager to see whether the anticipated all-Nigerian showdown could materialize in the near future.
