Ned Nwoko insists Regina Daniels undergo drug rehabilitation

Sen. Ned Nwoko has said that his wife, actress Regina Daniels, must undergo rehabilitation to ensure her well-being and enable her to raise their children in a healthy environment.

Speaking in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday in Abuja, Nwoko said his call for rehabilitation followed months of concerning toxicology results and episodes of what he described as violent and destructive behaviour linked to substance use.

According to him, Daniels’ recent change in behaviour, coupled with repeated health crises, made it necessary for her to receive structured medical care away from drug access.

“I want her alive and healthy, not just for me, but for our children,” he said.
“We have two young kids together. They cannot speak for themselves, so I must protect their mother. Many people have died from drug overdose. If anything happens to her, what will I tell her children tomorrow?”

Nwoko claimed he had taken Daniels to the hospital unconscious on three occasions due to drug complications and presented toxicology reports he said showed dangerous substance levels.

He described as “misleading and harmful” recent public denials by Daniels’ mother and siblings, adding that those discouraging rehabilitation were not acting in her best interest.

“If they really believe she has no problem, let them take her to any toxicologist of their choice. I will pay the bills,” he said.

Nwoko further alleged that Daniels’ close relatives and friends were supplying the substances she was struggling to stop using, frustrating recovery efforts.

“Her brother Sammy and his friends have influenced her negatively. Each time progress was made, they undid it by bringing in the same drugs she was trying to quit,” he alleged.

He also dismissed claims by Daniels’ mother that his late son died of drug overdose, describing the allegation as a “cruel attack on the dead,” insisting no autopsy supported such a claim.

The couple’s marital dispute became public after Daniels accused Nwoko of physical assault and announced her exit from the marriage. Nwoko has denied the allegations, maintaining that her behaviour is linked to substance dependence rather than domestic abuse.
