Shettima Urges Well-Wishers to Donate to Charity Instead of Birthday Adverts
Vice-President Kashim Shettima has requested that friends, associates, and well-wishers refrain from placing congratulatory adverts for his upcoming 58th birthday.
In a statement released on Thursday by Stanley Nkwocha, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Communications (Office of the Vice President), Shettima urged that any funds intended for such adverts be donated to charitable organizations and vulnerable citizens instead.
The vice-president, who will celebrate his birthday on Monday, Sept. 2, expressed a preference for a modest observance of the day, aligning with the administration’s focus on development and improving the welfare of Nigerians.
Shettima extended his gratitude for the continuous support and goodwill he receives, stating that contributions to charity would better reflect the values of the Renewed Hope Administration led by President Bola Tinubu.
