Renowned Islamic scholar and prominent Tijjaniyya leader, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, has died after a prolonged illness.

Family sources confirmed that the revered cleric, who was aged over 100, passed away on Wednesday.

The news of his passing was later made public by former presidential media aide Bashir Ahmad in a post on X, where he expressed deep sorrow over the loss.

“It is with a heavy heart and complete submission to the will of Allah (SWT) that we receive the news of the passing of our revered leader, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, one of the leaders of the Tijjaniyya order in Nigeria. May Allah forgive his shortcomings, accept his noble deeds and grant him Jannatul Firdaus. Ameen,” Ahmad wrote.

Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi was widely regarded as one of Nigeria’s most influential Islamic scholars, known for his decades of teachings, spiritual leadership, and contributions to the growth of the Tijjaniyya movement in the country.
