The Police Command in Katsina State has reiterated its commitment to enhance gender-focused policing strategies in the state.
Its Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Abubakar Aliyu, made the disclosure to newsmen on Monday in Katsina.
Aliyu said that was part of the activities to commemorate 70 years of distinguished service of Women Police Officers in the Nigeria Police Force.
He said that a delegation of serving women officers visited retired female officers at their residences across the state to honour their contributions, and reaffirm the command’s commitment to gender inclusivity and mentorship.
During the visits, he said, interactive sessions were held, giving the retirees a platform to share valuable insights that would shape future gender‑focused policing strategies.
The retired women officers expressed sincere appreciation to the leadership of the command and the force in general, for honouring their sacrifices.
They further called on the women police officers currently in service to remain dedicated to duty and keep the flag of the Nigeria Police Force flying high.
