Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has withdrawn his membership from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), citing the ongoing crisis within the party’s national leadership.

Adeleke’s resignation was disclosed in a statement issued on Tuesday by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, who revealed that the governor had formally left the party since November 4, 2025.

According to Rasheed, Adeleke’s resignation letter was addressed to the PDP chairman of Ward 2, Sagba Abogunde, in Ede North Local Government Area of Osun State.

In the letter personally signed by the governor, he said his decision was driven by the unresolved turmoil at the national level of the PDP.

“Due to the current crisis within the national leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), I hereby resign my membership of the PDP with immediate effect,” Adeleke wrote.

He also expressed appreciation to the party for the platform it provided throughout his political career.

“I thank the Peoples Democratic Party for the opportunities given to me for my elections as a Senator representing Osun West and as Governor of Osun State,” the letter added.
