Ceasefire Violated as Israeli Forces Injure 5 Palestinians, Including Children, in Gaza City

Five Palestinians, including two women and two children, were injured on Tuesday after Israeli forces opened fire in Gaza City despite an existing ceasefire agreement, the Gaza Civil Defense has said.

In a statement, the agency reported that military fire from Israeli tanks and drones targeted homes in the Al-Tuffah neighborhood, trapping dozens of civilians overnight. Civil defense teams, working in coordination with the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), were able to evacuate the besieged residents under heavy fire.

Gaza City has remained a focal point of Israeli attacks in recent weeks, alongside Khan Younis and Rafah, as Israeli forces continue daily strikes in areas designated as military-controlled zones.

According to Gaza’s Health Ministry, at least 356 Palestinians have been killed and more than 900 wounded in Israeli attacks since the ceasefire took effect on October 10.

Overall, more than 70,000 Palestinians — mostly women and children — have been killed and over 171,000 injured in Gaza since October 2023, as continuous bombardments and ground operations leave much of the enclave in ruins.
