In recognition of his outstanding contributions to Nigeria’s digital transformation agenda, the Director-General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi CCIE, has been honoured with the Award of Excellence in Public Service by BusinessDay newspaper.

Now in its seventh edition, the BusinessDay Public Service Awards celebrate public sector leaders who strengthen governance, improve institutional performance, and advance data-driven decision-making nationwide. The Awards Committee honoured the Director General of NITDA for driving key reforms and initiatives aimed at strengthening the nation’s digital economy.

Receiving the award on behalf of the NITDA boss, Dr Femi Adeluyi from the Stakeholder Management & Partnerships Department, said the award was well deserved, describing it as recognition of the DG’s contributions to Nigeria’s digital transformation agenda through digital literacy initiative, AI integration, and his role in the establishment of the Nigerian Data Protection Commission.

In his welcome address, the Publisher of BusinessDay, Frank Aigbogun, represented by the Editor, Lolade Akinmurele, said the Businessday Public Service Awards exist to recognise not intent, but delivery; not position, but performance.

Among those also recognized were Mohammed Idris, Minister of Information and National Orientation; Amb. Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Festus Keyamo, Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development; and several other distinguished public leaders.
