Top Transfers Of 2024/2025 Pre-Season: Major Signings Announced

The 2024/2025 pre-season transfer window, which officially closed on August 30, saw several high-profile signings across top football leagues, with notable moves both within and outside Europe. English Premier League clubs dominated the market with blockbuster deals and strategic player acquisitions.

In England, Raheem Sterling joined Arsenal on loan from Chelsea, while Jadon Sancho moved from Manchester United to Chelsea on a similar deal. Tottenham Hotspur secured Dominic Solanke from Bournemouth for £65 million, and Pedro Neto moved to Chelsea from Wolverhampton Wanderers for £54 million.

Manchester United made several key signings, including Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui from Bayern Munich for £50 million combined. Aston Villa also bolstered their squad with Amadou Onana from Everton for £50 million, while Manuel Ugarte joined Manchester United from Paris St. Germain for €50 million.

Chelsea continued their spending spree, signing Joao Felix from Atletico Madrid for £46 million, and Joshua Zirkzee moved to Manchester United from Bologna for €42.5 million. Other significant transfers include Evanilson joining Bournemouth from Porto for £40.2 million, Archie Gray to Tottenham Hotspur from Leeds United for £40 million, and Jean-Clair Todibo moving to West Ham United from Nice for €40 million.

Several free transfers were also completed, including Tosin Adarabioyo’s move from Fulham to Chelsea, while Daichi Kamada joined Crystal Palace from Lazio on a free transfer. Notable loans included Neto from Bournemouth to Arsenal.

Beyond the Premier League, Mohamed Elneny moved to Al-Jazira in the UAE on a free transfer, and Kasper Schmeichel joined Celtic from Anderlecht. Youssef En-Nesyri switched from Sevilla to Fenerbahce for €20 million, and Bobby Clark left Liverpool for RB Salzburg for £10 million.
