Integrity, Credibility Key to Meaningful Recognition — Danu

The founder of the Nasiru Haladu Danu Foundation, Alhaji Nasiru Haladu Danu, has commended OurNigeria News Magazine for what he described as its integrity and credibility in recognising excellence, saying such values distinguish meaningful awards from mere ceremonial events.

Danu made the remarks on Saturday in Abuja while speaking as Chairman of the Occasion at the 7th OurNigeria News Awards, organised by OurNigeria News Magazine.

He described the award ceremony as a special event, noting that organising a credible and widely respected platform for recognition requires dedication, consistency, and trust built over time. According to him, the presence of award recipients from different parts of Africa underscored the growing continental relevance and reputation of the magazine.

“Anybody can organise an award ceremony, but what truly matters is the integrity and credibility behind such recognition,” Danu said.

He praised the organisers and management of OurNigeria News Magazine for the effort invested in sustaining a respected brand, adding that many of the guests in attendance had deep respect for the publication because of its principled approach to journalism and public recognition.

Danu expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve as Chairman of the occasion and assured the organisers of his continued support. He also highlighted the humanitarian focus of the Nasiru Haladu Danu Foundation, noting that the organisation is committed to promoting humanity, unity, and cohesion within Nigeria and across Africa.

According to him, the foundation strongly believes in Nigeria’s unique role on the continent and the importance of initiatives that foster national and regional unity.

He prayed for the continued growth and success ofOurNigeria News Magazine, urging Nigerians and stakeholders to support credible institutions that celebrate leadership, service, and positive impact.

The 7th OurNigeria News Awards brought together political leaders, traditional rulers, business executives, professionals, and civil society actors from within and outside Nigeria to honour outstanding contributions to national and continental development.

In a goodwill message as the Royal Father of the Day, the Emir of Doma Kingdom, Alhaji Ahmadu Aliyu Oga Onawo, described OurNigeria News Magazine as a platform that promotes patriotism, hope, and national renewal.

Also speaking, the Minister Defence, Gen. Christopher Musa (Rtd), who was honoured as Man of the Year 2025, urged Nigerians to report any form of criminal activity, including banditry, kidnapping, terrorism, and insurgency, assuring that security agencies would respond decisively.

He noted that the security situation across the country was gradually improving, attributing the progress to sustained military operations, enhanced intelligence gathering, and growing public support.
