Gov. Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State, has inaugurated a 27-kilometre Kuri-Nasarawa-Lambam-Gelambam-Dasa Talasse Junction Road to boost rural connectivity and inclusive development.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, the Yahaya assured residents that the road network would be further extended to link Kembu, Kidda and Panda communities to the Kuri axis in order to enhance agricultural activities, and improve economic integration.

The governor disclosed that just two days earlier, the State Executive Council approved the construction of 19.9-kilometre Mararraban Kwaji-Jagali-Jarawa-Maikaho-Tsando-Dandela to Dasa Road.

“We promised you, and by the grace of God, we have delivered. You elected us, and we assured you of this road,” the Governor stated.

He also directed the immediate reconstruction and upgrading of the deteriorated stretch from Kuran Mota (Kuri Junction) to Kuri Bridge, originally constructed by the previous administration.

The occasion also witnessed the defection of hundreds of supporters to the All Progressives Congress (APC), who cited the Governor’s leadership style and developmental strides as reasons for aligning with the ruling party.

At the Palace of the Emir of Deba, Governor Inuwa Yahaya, who holds the traditional title of Dolakin Deba, stated that the establishment of Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) would strengthen traditional institutions and accelerate grassroots development.

“It is our hope that these LCDAs will eventually evolve into fully recognised Local Government Areas as provided for by the Constitution,” he said.

The Governor emphasized that population growth and increasing social demands require proactive planning, noting that Gombe State’s population has grown from less than two million to over four million.

He reiterated that security, education, healthcare and other essential services remain fundamental rights of citizens and assured that his administration is taking deliberate steps to meet those obligations.

Earlier, the Emir of Deba, Alhaji Ahmed Usman, commended the Governor for executing impactful projects across the Emirate and the state at large.

At the Palace of the Emir of Yamaltu, Governor Inuwa Yahaya, who is also the Baraden Yamaltu, expressed satisfaction with the renovation of the Emirate Council executed through the Joint Project Development Agency.

Despite limited resources, he said, the administration has recorded measurable achievements across sectors, including the establishment of the Muhammadu Buhari Industrial Park in Dadinkowa to stimulate job creation and economic prosperity.

He stressed that security remains a collective responsibility and called on residents to safeguard public infrastructure and investments.

Responding, the Emir of Yamaltu, Alhaji Abubakar Aliyu, appreciated the Governor for fulfilling campaign promises and exceeding expectations through initiatives such as the creation of LCDAs, the Industrial Park, and new road projects linking rural communities.
