A prominent grassroots mobiliser in the All Progressives Congress (APC), Okpokwu Ogenyi, is emerging as a central figure in the growing nationwide mobilisation for the re-election of Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
Ogenyi, a former Senior Special Assistant to the APC National Chairman on Civil Society and Support Groups, led the technical team of the Renewed Hope Network (TRN) during a strategic engagement with the APC Support Groups Council in Abuja, which culminated in the endorsement of the mobilisation platform by about 1,500 registered APC support groups.
The Deputy Director General of the APC Support Groups Council, AK Peters, announced the endorsement following the meeting, which also featured international diplomat Tunji John Asaolu.
Ogenyi’s leadership in civil society engagement and grassroots political organisation has played a key role in shaping the operational strategy of the Renewed Hope Network, which is positioning itself as a major mobilisation platform ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
The initiative is powered by former Zamfara State governor and Senator representing Zamfara West Senatorial District, Abdulaziz Yari.
As part of its early groundwork, the Renewed Hope Network has begun mobilising polling unit canvassers across Nigeria in preparation for the January 16, 2027 presidential election.
According to Peters, the initiative has already begun attracting wide acceptance across political and grassroots structures nationwide.
“The TRN is committed to building the most formidable grassroots political movement in support of Mr. President within a very short time while networking every corner of the Country. In APC, we have over three thousand five hundred(3,500) registered support groups out of which one thousand five hundred (1,500) have approved partnership with the RenewedHope Network, TRN. We are confident that another 2,000 groups will join the network between now and Easter,” Ak Peters stated.
Political observers say Ogenyi’s experience coordinating support groups and civil society networks within the APC could prove crucial in building the nationwide grassroots structure required for the party’s campaign ahead of the 2027 elections.
