Troops of Sector 1, Operation Enduring Peace, have arrested four suspected armed militia and recovered two locally fabricated pistols during an operation in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The operation followed a report at about 11:55 a.m. on Aug. 7 that criminals had snatched a mobile phone from the son of a woman identified as Ms. Angela Dominic at gunpoint in Anguwan Rukuba.
According to a military source, the troops swiftly responded to the incident and arrested two suspects at the scene.
The suspects subsequently assisted the troops in identifying and apprehending two other alleged members of the gang, bringing the total number of arrests to four.
The troops conducted searches at the residences of the suspects, during which two locally fabricated pistols were recovered.
The suspects and the recovered weapons are currently in custody and undergoing interrogation as security agencies intensify efforts to establish their involvement in other criminal activities in the area.
