First Lady Donates N500m to Support Maiduguri Flood Victims
First Lady Oluremi Tinubu has contributed N500 million to assist those affected by the recent flooding in Maiduguri, Borno State.
The donation was announced on Wednesday during a visit to Gov. Babagana Zulum, where Tinubu was represented by Nana Kashim Shettima, Wife of the Vice President. Tinubu’s representative presented the funds and offered prayers for the flood victims.
The First Lady commended the state government’s efforts in addressing the disaster and promised continued support through the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), focusing on youth and women empowerment in the state.
Accompanied by the wives of state governors, ministers, and female National Assembly members, Tinubu’s delegation emphasized their solidarity with the people of Borno.
Gov. Zulum expressed gratitude for the donation, acknowledging the significant impact of the RHI’s support on vulnerable women in the region. He also noted that President Bola Tinubu visited the state earlier in the week to show solidarity with the flood-affected communities.
