Jordan and Saudi Arabia have reaffirmed their support for Lebanon as Israel intensifies its attacks on the country, officials from both nations announced.
Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ayman Safadi, reiterated Jordan’s unwavering support for Lebanon during a phone call with Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati. According to a statement from Jordan’s foreign ministry, Safadi condemned the recent Israeli attacks and emphasized Jordan’s readiness to assist Lebanon in facing the war’s consequences, in line with directives from King Abdullah II.
Safadi called for immediate action by the international community to enforce an immediate ceasefire, implement UN Resolution 1701, and support Lebanon. He also mentioned that Jordan has dispatched two aid planes and is committed to providing ongoing assistance to the Lebanese people.
Similarly, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah discussed the situation in Lebanon with his Lebanese counterpart Abdallah Bou Habib. He reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s support for Lebanon’s security and stability during their conversation.
Earlier, Saudi Arabia expressed deep concern over the escalating violence in Lebanon and urged the international community to take decisive action to ensure regional peace and prevent the dangers of war.
