Liverpool’s goalkeeper Alisson Becker is set to miss six weeks of action due to a hamstring injury sustained during last weekend’s Premier League win over Crystal Palace.
The 32-year-old Brazilian was forced off the pitch with just 11 minutes remaining. Medical tests confirmed that Alisson is unlikely to return until after the international break next month, with a potential comeback for Liverpool’s Premier League match against Southampton on Nov. 24.
This injury is a setback for manager Arne Slot, as Liverpool face crucial games this month, including Premier League clashes with Chelsea and Arsenal, and Champions League matches against RB Leipzig and Bayer Leverkusen. Backup goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher, who was absent from the Palace match due to illness, is expected to step in, as he did last season when Alisson was sidelined with a similar injury.
