The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has destroyed harmful products valued at N10 billion in Gombe, as part of its ongoing efforts to protect public health.
The destruction, carried out on Wednesday, involved the disposal of unsafe food items, drugs, and other regulated products seized from six northeastern states — Adamawa, Bauchi, Borno, Taraba, Gombe, and Yobe.
NAFDAC Director-General Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye, represented by the Zonal Director, Mr. Kenneth Azukwe, said the agency’s enforcement officers played a critical role in intercepting the dangerous products. “This exercise highlights NAFDAC’s commitment to ensuring only quality and safe items are available to Nigerians,” she noted.
