The Spanish Ambassador to Nigeria, Juan Sell, has reiterated Spain’s commitment to deepening bilateral relations with Nigeria during a speech at the Spanish National Day celebration in Abuja on Wednesday.
Sell highlighted Spain’s eagerness to expand collaboration with Nigeria and engage in broader business ventures within the global community. He acknowledged the presence of ministers who have visited Spain, as well as notable guests from various sectors including business, academia, and the arts.
“We are proud to collaborate with Nigeria, a nation with resilient and resourceful people, as we aim to build peace and prosperity,” said Sell, noting Nigeria’s 25 years of uninterrupted democracy.
As part of Spain’s new Africa Strategy, Sell emphasized the importance of Nigeria’s strategic role in the continent and reaffirmed Spain and the EU’s support for ECOWAS in safeguarding democracy and promoting regional integration.
The presence of ECOWAS Commissioners at the event further underscored the significance of the partnership between Spain and Nigeria.
