Three people lost their lives, and two others were injured following an explosion on a motorway near Pakistan’s capital, Islamabad, police confirmed.
The incident occurred late Wednesday near a toll plaza on the M1 motorway, where a passenger van exploded, according to motorway police.
“Initial findings point to a cylinder burst as the cause of the accident,” the police stated.
The victims, both deceased and injured, have been transported to a nearby hospital for further care, the statement added.
