The Lagos State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Lawal Pedro (SAN), announced on Monday, October 21, that the toxicology report and other forensic analyses conducted in the United States on the late singer Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, known as Mohbad, have been received.
Speaking at a press conference at the Ministry of Justice in Ikeja, Pedro confirmed that the autopsy report is now with the Lagos State Pathologist and the coroner magistrate. The announcement was made as part of events marking his first year in office and an upcoming strategic stakeholders’ meeting.
Pedro acknowledged delays in the investigation, citing the extensive time required for thorough forensic analysis. He emphasized the importance of gathering sufficient evidence for any potential court case, saying, “Forensic analysis and toxicology are crucial for ensuring a full-proof investigation that can lead to conviction.”
The Attorney General further explained that the toxicology examination was conducted in the U.S. due to the destruction of the Lagos DNA and Forensic Centre during the #EndSARS protests in October 2020.
