A high-level German government delegation, led by Vice Chancellor and Economy Minister Robert Habeck, is set to travel to New Delhi on Wednesday to deepen economic and labor relations with India.

Chancellor Olaf Scholz will join Habeck on Thursday to co-launch the Asia-Pacific Conference of German Business in New Delhi. The conference, organized by German business representatives and the Economy Ministry, aims to foster stronger economic cooperation between Germany and the Asia-Pacific region.

In addition to economic discussions, the trip will focus on strengthening collaboration in hydrogen energy, a key area for promoting climate-friendly initiatives. Labour Minister Hubertus Heil will also accompany Habeck to explore opportunities for recruiting skilled workers from India.

As part of his visit, Habeck is scheduled to meet with Indian ministers and attend a hockey match before returning to Germany on Saturday. The trip comes amid ongoing negotiations between the European Union and India over a potential free trade agreement.
