Woman Arraigned for Alleged POS Fraud in Lagos

A 35-year-old woman, Tawa Adigun, has been arraigned before an Ojo Magistrates’ Court in Lagos for allegedly defrauding a victim under false pretenses.

Charged with obtaining by false pretenses and stealing, Adigun is accused of unlawfully obtaining N500,000 from Olaide Yusuf in October 2023, claiming the money was to set up a Point of Sale (POS) business. However, she allegedly converted the funds for personal use.

Adigun pleaded not guilty, and Magistrate A.M. Alade granted her bail at N100,000 with two sureties. The case was adjourned to November 5 for mention.
