Saudi Arabia has condemned a recent terrorist attack on a military base in Chad’s Lake Chad region, where Boko Haram militants targeted Chadian soldiers in a deadly assault.

In an official statement, the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed deep condolences and solidarity with the victims’ families, the government, and the people of Chad. The ministry extended its wishes for a swift recovery to the injured and reiterated the Kingdom’s strong opposition to terrorism in all its forms, according to the Saudi Press Agency.

The attack, which took place Sunday night around 10:00 pm local time, occurred in the western Ngouboua region near the Nigerian border. Boko Haram fighters overran the base, reportedly killing around 40 soldiers, seizing weapons, and destroying vehicles armed with heavy weaponry before retreating.
