Nigerian-British boxer Anthony Joshua has secured a place among the top three highest-earning boxers of 2024, despite his recent defeat to Daniel Dubois.
Joshua, a former two-time heavyweight champion, earned a guaranteed £6 million from the high-profile fight at Wembley Stadium in September, with additional pay-per-view (PPV) revenue potentially bringing his total earnings to over £25 million if buys reached 850,000.
Only Tyson Fury and Canelo Alvarez surpassed Joshua’s earnings this year. Tyson Fury, known as the “Gypsy King,” reportedly earned a massive $100 million from his historic undisputed heavyweight bout with Oleksandr Usyk in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in May. Mexican superstar Canelo Alvarez followed with an estimated $35 million for defending his super middleweight title against Jaime Munguia at Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena, as reported by boxing journalist Dan Rafael.
Joshua’s opponent, Dubois, received a guaranteed £3.5 million, with potential total earnings reaching £8 million based on PPV results. Their intense fight saw Dubois knock down Joshua four times before a fifth-round stoppage secured Dubois’ victory.
