Ace Nigerian artist Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has shattered streaming records on Spotify with his newly released album, Morayo.
The album, which debuted on November 22, has quickly claimed the number one spot on the Apple Music Nigeria Chart, with all tracks securing top positions.
One of its singles, Kese (Dance), set a record for the highest opening-day streams on Spotify Nigeria, amassing 1.5 million streams. Another track, Piece of My Heart, also achieved over 1 million streams on its first day.
Morayo, which means “I see joy” in Yoruba, is a heartfelt tribute to Wizkid’s late mother, Juliana Balogun, who passed away in August 2023. The album features a carefully curated lineup of artists from diverse genres, showcasing Wizkid’s artistry and emotional depth.
With this achievement, Wizkid continues to solidify his position as one of Nigeria’s most celebrated global music icons.
