Super Eagles star Victor Osimhen has encouraged fellow Nigerian striker Gift Orban to leave Lyon and move to Turkish Super Lig club Galatasaray during the upcoming January transfer window, according to Soccernet.ng.
Orban has faced challenges at Lyon since his January transfer from Gent, scoring only five goals in 21 appearances. His struggles this season have seen him omitted from the matchday squad on several occasions.
With Lyon reportedly needing to offload players to comply with financial fair play regulations, Orban’s future at the club appears uncertain.
While German clubs like RB Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund have shown interest in the 22-year-old, Galatasaray has emerged as a strong contender.
Osimhen, who joined Galatasaray this summer, has reportedly advised Orban to join him in Turkey to secure more game time and revitalize his career.
However, Orban may consider offers from clubs in Europe’s top five leagues if they materialize. Lyon currently values the striker at €25 million, though a lower fee might be negotiated.
