Shettima to Meet IsDB Chairman, Perform Umrah in Saudi Arabia

Vice-President Kashim Shettima will hold a bilateral meeting with the Chairman of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group, Dr. Muhammad-Sulaiman Al-Jasser, on Dec. 20 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

A statement by Mr. Stanley Nkwocha, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media & Communications, Office of the Vice President, disclosed that the meeting will focus on co-financing arrangements for the second phase of the Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zones (SAPZ).

“This engagement aims to enhance the coordination of IsDB projects in Nigeria to boost agricultural and economic development,” Nkwocha stated.

Shettima traveled to Saudi Arabia after representing President Bola Tinubu at the commissioning of a $315 million oil production and storage facility owned by Oriental Energy Ltd. in Dubai.

The Vice-President will perform the lesser hajj (Umrah) in Madinah and Makkah from Dec. 16 to 19 before his meeting in Jeddah. He was received in Madinah by Abdulmohsen Bin Hamed, Deputy Governor of the Madinah Region, alongside Nigerian diplomatic officials, including the Consulate General of Jeddah, Amb. Mu’azzam Nayaya.

During his stay in Madinah, Shettima will visit the Prophet’s Mosque and other holy sites before heading to Makkah. He is accompanied by Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno.
