Former Super Eagles coach, Sunday Oliseh, has praised midfielder Alex Iwobi for becoming the first Nigerian player in history to reach 300 appearances in the English Premier League.

Iwobi reached the milestone during Fulham’s weekend clash against Newcastle United at St. James’ Park, marking a major achievement in his professional career.

The 29-year-old began his Premier League journey in October 2015 when he made his debut for Arsenal against Swansea City. Since then, Iwobi has featured in 100 matches for Arsenal, 123 for Everton, and 77 for Fulham — bringing his total to 300 league appearances.

Reacting to the achievement, Oliseh took to his official X (formerly Twitter) account to celebrate Iwobi, writing:
“Congrats Alex! For me, it is a real joy to see this player continue to improve. A true talent.”

Iwobi continues to be an influential figure for both Fulham and the Nigerian national team, with his latest record standing as a proud moment for Nigerian and African football.
