Actress Sarah Martins Cries Out After Alleged Assault by KAI Officials While Feeding the Needy in Lagos

Nollywood actress Sarah Martins has accused officials of the Lagos Environmental Sanitation Corps (LAGESC), popularly known as KAI (Kick Against Indiscipline), of assaulting her while she was distributing free food to the needy in Lagos.

Martins, who is known for cooking and sharing meals with the less privileged on the streets, alleged that the officials poured hot oil on her hand and confiscated her food and cooking equipment.

In a video shared on her social media page, the actress appeared in tears as bystanders surrounded her, consoling her and condemning the alleged actions of the KAI officials.

“Today, as I was cooking free food for the vulnerable and homeless people on the street of Lagos like I always do, some uniform men came, harassed me, bullied me, and took away the food I was cooking, along with my cooking gas and utensils,” she wrote.

“My only offense was serving love on a plate through my healthy meals. I am not a chef and I do not cook to sell. My heart aches,” she added.

As of the time of this report, LAGESC has not issued an official response to the allegations.
