The Adamawa State Government has commenced the distribution of educational materials to secondary schools across the 21 Local Government Areas (LGAs), aiming to strengthen the education system.
The Executive Secretary of the Post Primary School Management Board (PPSMB), Mr. Samuel Wegerang, flagged off the initiative at the Government Model and Modern College (GMMC) in Yola on Thursday.
Speaking at the event, Wegerang highlighted that this was the second phase of the distribution exercise, describing it as a significant step toward enhancing teaching and learning in the state.
“This initiative is crucial for promoting effective education in our state. I urge all principals to ensure that these materials are properly distributed and utilized to achieve the desired goals,” he said.
Wegerang expressed gratitude to Governor Ahmadu Fintiri for his unwavering commitment to advancing education by creating a conducive learning environment. He also appealed to parents to support the government’s efforts, encouraging teachers and parents to work together to improve education, reduce the number of out-of-school children, and foster peace.
Receiving the materials on behalf of the principals, Malam Muhammed Musa, the Principal of GMMC Yola, pledged to utilize the supplies effectively to improve education standards.
“We appreciate the government’s dedication to education. This intervention will go a long way in uplifting the sector. I urge parents, teachers, and stakeholders to continue working together to enhance the quality of education,” Musa stated.
The educational materials distributed included report sheet booklets, cartons of chalk, student files, cartons of pens and paper, and other essential supplies.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the distribution underscores the government’s efforts to ensure quality education reaches every corner of the state.
