The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) has commenced the second phase of its planned load management exercise across its franchise areas, citing ongoing road construction by the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA).

In a statement released on Thursday in Abuja, the company explained that the exercise is tied to the FCDA road expansion project affecting the 132kV Gwagwalada–Kukwaba–Apo Line II.

The load management schedule will run daily from Wednesday to Sunday, between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., during which time affected communities will experience temporary interruptions in power supply.

Areas likely to be impacted include Apo, Lokogoma, Guzape, Asokoro, Wuye, Utako, Jabi, Idu Industrial Area, Karu, Nyanya, Mararaba, Jikwoyi and Ado. Some parts of Nasarawa State, including Keffi, Nasarawa Toto, Nasarawa Eggon and Akwanga, may also be affected.

AEDC apologized for the inconvenience, stating that the exercise is essential to support ongoing infrastructure work and ensure long-term network stability.

The company added that its technical teams will be on standby to restore supply promptly each day, and customers will be provided timely updates as the exercise progresses.
